We are seeking a detail‑oriented Optical (Eyewear) Lab Technician to join our growing optical lab team. In this role, you will support the production of prescription eyewear by tracing frames, edging and mounting lenses, performing quality checks, and ensuring each pair of glasses meets our high standards of accuracy and craftsmanship.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on technical work, thrives in a structured environment, and takes pride in producing work that directly impacts patient satisfaction. Previous experience is required.
Key Responsibilities
Lens Production & Equipment Operation
- Trace frames for the production of prescription lenses
- Edge, cut, grind, and finish lenses using optical lab equipment
- Mount prescription lenses into frames with precision and care
- Conduct quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) checks to ensure accuracy, fit, and finish
Workflow & Administration
- Maintain accurate records of jobs, materials, and measurements
- Perform administrative tasks as required (e.g., filing, documentation, job tracking)
- Order lenses and materials from manufacturers when needed
- Keep the lab clean, organized, and compliant with safety protocols
Team Collaboration
- Work with the lab team to ensure timely delivery of eyewear
- Assist with inventory management for lenses and supplies
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
- Previous optical lab experience (edging, mounting, surfacing, or similar)
- Familiarity with optical equipment such as edgers or tracers
- Understanding of basic optical terminology and prescription notation
- Experience in retail, eyewear sales, or healthcare products
