Job Overview
Labdara Lithuanian Nursing Home is looking for a summer youth staff to work in conjunction with our permanent staff to provide assistance in planning and implementing recreational activities for our elderly residents.
The summer student will start with an orientation to the home and the existing recreational activities, as well as an overview of general policies, expectations, code of conduct, safety policies and infection control protocols.
The student will be coached by experienced staff on how to create a recreational activity geared to the elderly and how to implement the programs. During this coaching period, the student will assist with the residents and recreational activities to become more comfortable and independent to run existing programs once trained.
Halfway through the position, the student will be asked to create a recreational activity. They will present this idea to the recreational team and manager. The staff will then assist in actualizing the program.
Duties
- Manage and update resident care plans as needed
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting clients and visitors promptly and professionally.
- Maintain up to date documentation on residents and their progress in recreational activities
- Assist with facilitating recreational activities
- Conduct research as needed to support organizational projects or inquiries.
- Perform typing duties for correspondence, reports, or other documentation requirements.

- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with team members and clients.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in managing files, data, and schedules.
- Strong work ethic with reliability and a positive attitude toward teamwork and task completion.
