Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing various accounting functions, ensuring accuracy in financial records, and supporting the company’s financial health. This role requires proficiency with accounting software and a solid understanding of accounting principles, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliation. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in maintaining compliance with financial regulations and supporting internal audits. Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms
- Perform account reconciliations and bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data
- Assist with bookkeeping duties, including ledger entries and data entry
- Support corporate finance activities including budgeting, account analysis, and financial reporting
- Conduct auditing procedures to verify the integrity of financial information
- Process payroll and ensure compliance with relevant regulations
- Prepare financial statements and reports for management review
- Collaborate with internal teams to improve accounting processes and maintain compliance with company policies
- Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations
Experience
- Proven experience as a Staff Accountant or similar role in accounting or finance
- Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, or equivalent systems
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and bookkeeping practices
- Experience with corporate finance functions including budgeting and account analysis
- Familiarity with payroll processing and auditing procedures is preferred
- Prior experience working within financial services or related industries is advantageous
- Excellent analytical skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to adapt quickly to new software tools and changing priorities
