JOB SUMMARY
Hestia is looking for a General Laborer who is dedicated and hardworking and will report to our site Foreman. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks to support the efficient of our daily construction activities. This hands-on position requires physical strength and the ability to work safely, while having respect for other team members and other trades working on-site.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform general labour tasks, including but not limited to digging, lifting and carrying materials
- Operate hand tools and other construction equipment
- Comply with Hestia Safety programs and relevant safety legislation, ensure a safe working environment
- Support and collaborate with other team members in various construction activities to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and deadlines are met
- Maintain cleanliness and organization on-site
- Other duties may be assigned
- Follow and adhere to all other company policies and procedures
QUALIFICATIONS & CHARACTERISTICS
- High School Diploma or equivalent is an asset
- Prior experience in a similar role is preferred; however, a strong work ethic and positive attitude are essential
- Understanding of construction processes and a desire to develop further skills in the industry
- First Aid certification is an asset
- Ability to follow instructions, communicate, work independently and effectively in a team environment
- Commitment to Hestia’s safety standards and guidelines
- Maintain a current class 5 driver's license and clean drivers abstract
- You will be required to provide your own PPE
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift 55 lbs. maximum
- Physical stamina to frequently lift/carry up to 20 lbs.
- Work will involve pushing, pulling, climbing, bending, kneeling, reaching, crouching, walking, standing and repetitive motions
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions
