Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Railing Installer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing various types of railings, including metal, glass, and other materials, ensuring safety, durability, and aesthetic appeal. This role requires an understanding of construction practices, excellent craftsmanship, and the ability to utilize tools and a tape measure in a safe and productive way. The Railing Installer will work closely with other team members and other trades to deliver high-quality results on time and within specifications.
Responsibilities
- Measure and mark installation points according to project plans
- Use hand tools such as drills, saws, levels, and caulking guns to install railings securely
- Read and interpret pictures, blueprints, and construction drawings to ensure accurate installation
- Cut, shape, and assemble railing components in accordance with specifications
- Install posts, balusters, handrails, and other components with precision
- Ensure all installations meet safety standards and building codes
- Perform restoration work as needed to ensure finished surfaces are smooth and aesthetically pleasing
- Apply caulking or sealants to screws for weatherproofing and finishing touches
- Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the project duration
Experience
- Proven experience in construction, railing installation experience an asset
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to construction sites
- Experience with related skills such as welding, flooring installation, or restoration is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
