Job Function
T DOT Automation Inc is hiring Senior Level - PLC Programmers and Controls Engineers with prior experience in Studio5000/RsLogix 5000, Siemens TIA Portal, Vision Systems, Cameras etc.
Prior experience in Automotive Manufacturing is a plus.
Programmer will be responsible for Leading Controls Projects, Supervising Intermediate and Junior Controls Engineers while doing Controls Systems design, specification, programming, simulation, testing, start-ups, buy-offs, Run @ rate etc.
Location
GTA, ON. Travel is required to other parts of Ontario including, London, Windsor, Cambridge etc. with occasional travel to USA.
Key Duties
- Lead controls and automation projects.
- Supervise Intermediate and Junior Level programmers.
- Perform PLC Programming, Vision Programming and design work for Automated Systems
- Start-up, commissioning, installation, safety and run at rate projects.
- Provide Controls and Automation troubleshooting, debugging and support for automation tasks at various client locations.
- Make edits to machine software programs and logics.
- Modify and create Human Machine Interface (HMI) screens.
- Assist in machine wiring checkout process and perform intermediate machine debugging.
- Participate in machine integration and debugging process at customer facilities.
- Design and implement controls systems for various applications, ensuring optimal performance reliability.
- Utilize VPN technologies to secure remote access to control systems.
- Provide support on existing processes and implement change requirements as a part of a structured change control process.
- Work within project timelines and constraints, while identifying risks and issues and communicating them to the management accordingly.
- Uphold safe work practices and participate in developing and maintaining a culture of safety.
- Submit required paperwork timely and accurately.
- Understand and comply with customer standards.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Electro-Mechanical Engineering (Robotics and Automation), or Electronics Engineering, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of electrical designs and layout.
- Minimum 6 years of PLC programming experience, specifically Allen Bradley RS Logix5000, Studio5000.
- Knowledge of TIA Portal, HMI and SCADA programming.
- Knowledge of logic and flow diagrams for program design, programming, simulation and testing, and start-up.
- Prior experience in Automotive Manufacturing, Body in White, Integration, Controls System Development, Debugging, etc. is preferred.
- Knowledge of Vision Systems including Keyence and Cognex cameras.
- Strong Leadership skills.
Working Environment
- Travel between facilities and client locations.
- Work flexible hours (day shift, afternoon shifts and night shifts) as per client requirements.

- Travel is required for this position within Canada.
