The Klondike Experience, a long-established local travel company, has partnered with Air North to provide essential ground handling services at the Dawson Airport. We're looking for motivated and reliable individuals to join us in this exciting venture at Dawson City Airport for the season of 2026. (Now - September 10)
Role Description:
- Support daily aircraft arrivals and departures, including marshalling as trained, baggage and cargo handling, and assisting with aircraft servicing and preparation for departure.
- Operate ground support equipment safely (training provided) and keep the ramp area clean, organized, and free of hazards at all times.
- Assist passengers during boarding and deplaning and help manage high passenger volumes while maintaining a good level of customer service.
- Communicate clearly with flight crews, station staff, and airport personnel to support smooth, on-time operations.
- Follow all safety protocols and standard operating procedures, use aviation management systems as required (training provided), and immediately report any safety concerns or irregularities to the Station Lead or Manager.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Valid class 5 driver's license and clean driver's abstract.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle physical demands (ability to lift up to 50 lbs on your own).
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to follow strict safety protocols.
- Grade 12 diploma
- Applicants should be able to work for the full season (Now - September 10).
Assets:
- Previous experience in ground handling or aviation.
- Knowledge of airport operations and safety regulations.
Job Details:
- Starting wage of $27.00 hourly wage + 4% vacation pay.
- Seasonal employment from now to September 10, with estimated weekly working hours of 40 hours per week.
- Long shifts, early starts, late finishes, and split shifts may be required due to charter schedules.
- Overtime hours (in excess of 40 hours per week) are eligible for pay at a rate of 1.5x.
- Minimum shift length, as with all staff, is 4 hours.
