Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Health Care Aids (HCAs) / Home Support Workers to provide quality care and support essential in-home based care for individuals with diverse needs. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those requiring specialized care such as dementia or hospice support. The ideal candidate will be committed to delivering high-quality patient care in a respectful and supportive manner, ensuring comfort, safety, and dignity for all clients.
We are particularly interested in candidates who can communicate in Punjabi, Hindi and English to better serve our diverse client population
Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Provide medication reminders following prescribed instructions and safety protocols
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding if necessary
- Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment
- Support patients with mobility, including heavy lifting when required, ensuring proper techniques to prevent injury
- Monitor health status and report any changes or concerns to healthcare professionals or family members
- Offer companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being
- Assist with specialized care needs such as dementia care, hospice support, or working with individuals with disabilities
- Follow all safety procedures and adhere to healthcare regulations and protocols
Qualifications
- Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care settings is preferred
- Knowledge of patient care practices, including medication reminders and caregiving techniques
- Experience working with seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those requiring dementia or hospice care is highly desirable
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively when assisting clients with mobility needs
- Strong communication skills and compassionate demeanor
- Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team
- Certification in caregiving or relevant training is a plus but not mandatory; willingness to learn on the job is essential
- Must be reliable, patient-focused, and committed to providing exceptional care
