We are looking for a motivated and business minded junior lawyer to join our Legal team. This role is ideal for a lawyer with 1–3 years of experience who is looking to build a well-rounded in house career within a fast paced and collaborative environment. The successful candidate will support a broad range of legal, commercial, and corporate matters while partnering closely with internal stakeholders across the business. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide day to day legal support across a variety of corporate and commercial matters
- Draft, review, and support the negotiation of commercial agreements, contracts, and other legal documentation
- Assist with legal matters involving affiliated companies and corporate entities
- Support corporate governance activities, including maintenance of corporate records, minute books, and annual filings
- Conduct legal research and provide practical recommendations to internal stakeholders
- Partner with business teams to support operational initiatives and risk management matters
- Monitor legal deadlines, contract renewals, and compliance related obligations
- Liaise with external counsel and third party partners as required
- Support continuous improvement initiatives
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Licensed to practice law in Ontario and a member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
- 1–3 years of experience in corporate, commercial, or general business law, either in private practice or in house
- Strong drafting, analytical, and problem solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast paced environment
- Strong business acumen with a practical and solutions focused mindset
- High level of professionalism and ability to handle confidential information
- Strong relationship building skills with internal and external stakeholders
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and legal technology tools
