Position Overview
Reporting to the Shop Manager, the Maintenance Technician plays a key role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing shop equipment to support safe and efficient daily operations. Based at our Canadian facility and job site, this position is critical to ensuring the reliability of our equipment and supporting our mission to build iconic steel structures.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance on shop equipment including: grinders, band saws, welding machines and paint pumps
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical and basic electrical issues
- Assist with equipment installation, setup, and upgrades as needed
- Ensure all equipment operates safely and efficiently to minimize downtime
- Follow and promote workplace health and safety standards in compliance with Canadian regulations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Support production teams by ensuring equipment reliability
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience in maintenance, equipment repair, or a similar role in a manufacturing or industrial setting
- Proven experience troubleshooting and repairing shop equipment
- Strong mechanical aptitude with basic electrical knowledge
- General mechanical and electrical maintenance experience considered an asset
- No trade certification required — hands on experience and practical skills are prioritized
- Experience in a fabrication or welding environment is an asset
- Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills
