ABOUT US
QCL is a luxury fishing resort set in a protected harbor at the northern end of Haida Gwaii. We pride ourselves in the comfort, friendliness, and platinum standard services we provide – and we look for crew who share this paradigm. Our summer season runs from late May, running until mid-September.
All crew receive round trip transportation from Vancouver to Haida Gwaii, meals, shared accommodations, quality uniforms, access to a staff lounge and gym, and opportunities to fish throughout the season.
Our Back of House team plays a vital role in shaping our first-class guest experience. With strong culinary foundations and clear communication, our culinary team operates as a skilled, adaptable, and dependable group of individuals who take pride in working together to meet the high standards of the lodge.

COOK/CHEF
We are seeking talented and passionate Cooks/Chefs to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food industry, with experience in food preparation and restaurant management. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing delicious dishes and ensuring food safety standards are met.
3+ years of experience in a similar role is required
ROLES RESPONSIBILITES:
- Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation
- Maintain food safety and sanitation standards in accordance with health regulations
- Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure excellent customer service
- Monitor inventory levels and advising Management when stock is low
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
- Relocating to QCL (Spring-Fall) position based in Haida Gwaii
- Line work experience in a high-volume environment is an asset
- Previous resort experience is considered an asset
- Food Safe Level 1 is required
- Red Seal certification is considered an asset
- First Aid certificate is considered an asset
- Serving it Right is considered an asset
- Ability to carry moderate-heavy loads, bend/kneel easily, and withstand being on your feet for the entirety of each shift
- Solid interpersonal skills allowing one to work effectively in a diverse and dynamic setting
- Desire to learn and provide a first-class guest experience
- Passion for the west coast and interest in the adventures that come along with working/living in a remote lodge environment
Daily rate can vary depending on role and experience
