Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Welder Apprentice/MIG Welder to join our manufacturing team. This entry-level position offers hands-on experience in welding and fabrication processes, with opportunities to develop advanced skills in various welding techniques and manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, safety-conscious, and possess a foundational understanding of mechanical systems and tools. This paid position provides valuable training in a dynamic environment focused on quality craftsmanship and precision.
Duties
- Assist with MIG welding operations on various metal components, ensuring adherence to safety standards and quality specifications
- Support the setup and operation of welding equipment, including plasma cutting, press brake machines, and hand tools
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately assemble parts and structures
- Perform basic rigging tasks for lifting and positioning materials using cranes or forklifts
- Use calipers, measuring tapes, and other precision tools to verify dimensions and tolerances
- Aid in machining, assembly, and installation of ductwork or structural components as required
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times
- Learn to operate power tools and hand tools safely while developing proficiency in welding techniques such as TIG and MIG welding
Skills
- Basic knowledge of welding processes, including MIG welding; familiarity with TIG welding is a plus
- Mechanical knowledge related to manufacturing, construction, or ductwork applications
- Experience or training in blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and basic math for measurements and calculations
- Ability to operate machinery such as plasma cutters, press brake machines, cranes, forklifts, and hand/power tools
- Understanding of rigging procedures for lifting heavy materials safely
- Familiarity with machining operations and use of calipers for precise measurements
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to welding, fabrication, and manufacturing environments
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow detailed instructions accurately

Pay: $19.50-$25.00 per hour

Work Schedule: This position offers a flexible schedule. Employees will work 5 days per week, with shifts scheduled between Monday and Sunday. Availability for weekends and flexible hours is required.
