Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced and motivated South Indian Chef or Sous Chef to join our team at Dosa Eatery. The ideal candidate should have experience making authentic South Indian dishes such as dosa, vada, and idli while maintaining quality, consistency, and cleanliness in the kitchen.
Most gravies, chutneys, and preparation items are supplied from our central kitchen, so this role mainly focuses on final preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook dosa, vada, and idli
- Maintain food quality and presentation standards
- Cut, chop, and prepare vegetables and ingredients
- Assist with kitchen organization and cleanliness
- Follow food safety and hygiene standards
- Manage prep work and station setup efficiently
- Support the kitchen team during busy hours
- Monitor inventory and inform management about shortages
Requirements
- Experience working in a South Indian restaurant or similar kitchen
- Knowledge of dosa batter handling and tawa cooking
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Team player with positive attitude
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization
- Flexible availability including evenings and weekends
