Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and physically capable Yard Hand to join our team. This role involves supporting warehouse operations, handling heavy equipment, and assisting with shipping and receiving tasks. The ideal candidate will have experience in warehouse distribution, construction, or heavy equipment operation, and possess mechanical knowledge to efficiently manage various duties in a fast-paced environment. This position offers an opportunity to develop skills in warehouse management systems and heavy machinery operation while contributing to the smooth functioning of our yard operations.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload materials using heavy equipment such as cranes, forklifts, clamp trucks, and order pickers
- Assist with order picking and inventory management within the warehouse or yard area
- Operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently, including forklifts and crane equipment
- Support shipping & receiving processes by preparing items for dispatch or receipt
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on heavy equipment and report any issues
- Support construction-related tasks as needed, including material movement and site cleanup
- Ensure safety protocols are followed during all yard activities
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency
Qualifications
- Previous experience in warehouse distribution, shipping & receiving, or construction is preferred
- Mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment operation is a plus
- Experience operating forklifts, cranes, clamp trucks, or order pickers is highly desirable
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely (up to 50 pounds or more)
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems is advantageous
- Strong attention to safety procedures and protocols
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and stand for extended periods
- Prior experience with heavy equipment operation or construction projects is beneficial

Pay: $17.85-$27.86 per hour
