Core Responsibilities
- Commercial Transport: Operate a Class AZ truck and float trailer to safely transport heavy-duty construction or industrial equipment across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and beyond. To be able to drive Trucks with Manual transmission
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate heavy machinery (e.g., excavators, bulldozers, skid steers, and rollers) to assist with earthmoving, grading, and site preparation.
- Load Securement: Load, unload, and secure heavy-duty cargo and equipment, utilizing appropriate tie-downs and adhering strictly to safety regulations.
- Directional Drill: Will be consider a plus if have experience assisting directional driller operations, front man locating
- Safety & Compliance: Complete daily pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections. Report any mechanical defects and ensure compliance with the Highway Traffic Act and Ministry of Transportation (MTO) regulations.
- Logistics & Documentation: Maintain accurate electronic/paper logs (e-logs), delivery manifests, and bills of lading, coordinating closely with dispatch and site supervisors.
- On-Site Assistance: Assist field crews and laborers with general project tasks, site cleanup, or minor equipment repairs when operating demands fluctuate.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Valid Class AZ Driver’s License with a clean driver's abstract
- Proven experience operating float/flatbed trailers and hauling heavy, oversized loads.
- Demonstrated proficiency in operating various types of heavy equipment.
- Working knowledge of MTO rules, cargo securement standards, and Hours of Service regulations.
- Physically fit and capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, and working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Strong verbal communication skills and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Availability for flexible hours, occasional overtime, or on-call rotation as dictated by project timelines.
