Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused individual to join our Shawarma/Donair Restaurant team. This role involves preparing delicious Middle Eastern dishes, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Duties
- Prepare and assemble Shawarma, Donair, and other menu items according to established recipes and standards
- Operate POS systems such as Micros POS for order processing and cash handling
- Manage food safety and sanitation protocols to ensure compliance with health regulations
- Serve customers efficiently, taking orders, answering questions, and upselling menu items when appropriate
- Handle cash transactions accurately and provide excellent customer service
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, kitchen equipment, and dining areas
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring supplies and notifying management of stock needs
- Ensure timely food preparation during busy hours to minimize wait times
- Follow all food handling guidelines to ensure safety and quality
Skills
- Experience in food preparation, food service, or restaurant environments is preferred
- Proficiency with POS systems such as Micros POS and basic math skills for cash handling and order calculations
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse clientele
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks during peak hours
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Kitchen experience or background in the food industry is advantageous
- Upselling skills to enhance customer experience and increase sales opportunities
- Ability to work as part of a team with a positive attitude
