This is a full time permanent position with an opportunity to transition to a Manager role for the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation of working paper files and financial statements for compilation and review engagements
- Preparation of personal and corporate tax returns, trust returns and related schedules
- Preparation of indirect tax returns and other compliance filings
- Supervision of and revision of junior staff's work
- Correspondence with clients and tax authorities on behalf of clients
- Responding to CRA audits on behalf of clients
Qualifications and Characteristics:
- CPA designation or enrolled in CPA PEP, passed CFE and near designation
- 3+ years experience in a public practice firm
- Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks/Sage, Excel, Profile and CaseWare
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and communication skills
- Works well under pressure
- Strong interest in public practice
- Ability to converse in Mandarin and Cantonese is an asset
