The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Senior Procurement Associate to join our team on a 6-month contract. This is a great opportunity for an experienced procurement professional to support our growing operations, collaborate with a passionate team, and make a meaningful impact on student nutrition programs across Toronto.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Food & Logistics, the Senior Procurement Associate supports the Food & Logistics team in delivering student nutrition programs across Toronto schools. This role is responsible for sourcing and purchasing food and supplies, managing supplier relationships, supporting inventory planning, and coordinating logistics to ensure products are delivered on time and within budget. The position works closely with procurement, warehouse, logistics, and program teams, as well as external suppliers and vendors, to support efficient and reliable operations across the organization.
This is a hybrid position, working 2-3 days in the office.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Procurement & Purchasing
· Source and purchase food, supplies, and services to support student nutrition programs.
· Obtain quotes, evaluate suppliers, and negotiate pricing and service agreements.
· Create and manage purchase orders and maintain accurate procurement records.
· Monitor spending and identify opportunities for cost savings.
· Prepare procurement reports and analyze purchasing trends to support decision-making.
Supplier Management
· Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
· Monitor supplier performance, including quality, pricing, delivery, and service levels.
· Resolve supply issues and work proactively to prevent disruptions.
· Support contract management and supplier compliance requirements.
Inventory Planning
· Assist with inventory forecasting and replenishment planning.
· Monitor inventory levels and coordinate orders to maintain appropriate stock.
· Support inventory counts, reconciliations, and inventory reporting.
· Work closely with warehouse and program teams to align inventory with operational needs.
Logistics Coordination
· Coordinate deliveries and product distribution to schools and program sites.
· Work with suppliers, warehouse staff, and transportation providers to ensure timely deliveries.
· Assist in resolving delivery issues and managing supply chain disruptions.
· Support continuous improvement initiatives related to procurement, inventory, and logistics processes.
· Maintain accurate logistics and supplier records.
· Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, Skills and Requirements
· Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, Logistics, or a related field.
· Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or logistics.
· Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
· Experience working with inventory management and procurement systems.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
· Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Pay: $75,000.00 per year
