Responsibilities:
The Truck Driver will provide support to the shop and field teams through successful transport or equipment and materials in a safe and effective manger while maximizing efficiencies of the fleet and opportunities for back-hauls coordinated by the Construction Manager.
- Safe operation of motor vehicles
- General upkeep and cleanliness of company equipment
- Punctual for loading and unloading times
- Assist in loading and unloading goods on the truck and ensure that they are stacked and secured properly
- Obtain signatures, if required, from the party to whom the goods have been delivered to
- Ensure if goods are left overnight, they are secure from theft. Check on goods at each stop during long hauls
- Follow Canadian motor vehicle policies and standards
- Follow FMI company standards for Safety and Quality
- Use GPS and / or maps to chart out the best route which is time and fuel efficient
- Consistency in completion of pre-trip records, maintenance checks, and driver logs
- Timely reporting of mechanical issues to the Fleet & Logistics Manager
- Correspondence with site regarding delivery times and pick up times
- Ensure goods are delivery to the right location
- Paper handling or material lading slips as well as delivery documents
- Ability to proactively plan loads and support back hauls coordinated by the Fleet & Logistics Manager
- Timely submission of logbooks, timesheets and expenses
- Strong work ethic
- Positively represent the FMI Group of companies
Qualifications:
- Class 1 Drivers License - required
- Minimum 5 years related experience with a clean drivers abstract
- Understanding of log books, and motor vehicle policies
- Strong communication skills
- Self-motivated and detail oriented
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Winter Driving experience is considered an asset
- Flat Deck Driving experience is considered an asset

Pay: From $30.00 per hour
