Job Description – Machine Operator - Afternoon Shift
Company Summary
ACG is a custom gasket manufacturer located in Mississauga Ontario currently celebrating over 35 years in business. We serve a variety of different industries, from Aerospace & Aviation to the Petro-Chemical industry and strive to be their gasket & material manufacturer of choice.
The Machine Operator will be required to effectively operate mechanical hydraulic equipment and CNC machines. All duties of the Machine Operator are to be performed according to ACG operating procedures in order to maximize the safety of all personnel at the work site and to efficiently perform the task.
Job Duties
- Efficiently set up and run mechanical hydraulic equipment (clicker press)
- Set up and efficient operation of CNC machines
- Perform first off and in-process part inspection
- Package & label finished goods according to customer requirements.
- Comply with applicable legislation including safe operation, part handling, occupational health and safety
- Check all documentation, materials and dies prior to cutting
- Communicate effectively with co-workers both verbally and in written form
- Assist in loading and unloading of material from trucks
- Ensure clean & clear workspace
- Provide feedback to supervision regarding customer problems, mechanical problems, or delivery problems
- Perform duties efficiently according to applicable procedures (ie AS9100)
- Train others when required
Requirements
- High School Diploma OR/AND 3-5 years Industry Experience
- AUTOCAD experience would be an asset
- Computer Literate would be an asset
- Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to perform routine equipment maintenance
- Must be able to read drawings and check basic dimensions
- Demonstrated organizational skills with strong oral and written communication abilities
- Exceptional organizational abilities with task prioritization, multi-tasking, use of timelines and time management techniques
- High level of personal integrity
- Strong work ethic
- Professional/mature demeanor under stressful situations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Confident, consistent decisive personality
- Must be able to work with little supervision; must be self-directed
- Tow Motor License may be required for some operators.
