Under the direction of the Manufacturing Manager, the Assembly Technician will work in the production department as required assisting in the manufacturing and/or assembly of various components and/or systems.
- Interpretation of engineering drawings, including dimensions, tolerances, and parts lists
- Assembly and testing of custom engineered products
- Operation of various manufacturing equipment including presses, cranes, balancing machine, ovens.
- Cleaning of various mechanical components and/or systems
- Work well within a team including manufacturing personnel, engineers, designers, suppliers and customers
- Be well organized and keep work area, inventory area and tools neat and tidy
- Review and adherence to all Company management systems, procedures and policies (e.g., Quality, HSE, etc.)
- Required to participate in all mandated quality, health, safety and environmental training
- Report any hazards, injuries or near misses to management
- Responsible for other duties and responsibilities as determined from time to time by Manufacturing Manager or delegate.
- Well organized individuals with good mechanical aptitude who are comfortable working with high tolerance machined parts.
- Completion of a recognized machining or technology program, or experience working in a precision manufacturing environment, is not required but would be considered an asset.
- Strong dedication to customer service.
- Attention to detail with a focus on eliminating repeat mistakes and ensuring accuracy.
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Capable of managing and/or switching from one task to another in a fluid environment.
- Capable of prioritizing workload based on organizational needs with little supervision.
- Ability to "think outside of the box".
- Must operate with a "sense of urgency" and be flexible with scheduling to meet customer needs.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
