Elevated K9 is looking for a K9 Assistant who is passionate about dogs. This position is an internship that will lead into a K9 Detection Handler position after the required experience and training is completed. The ideal candidate will have experience with large dogs and have dreams of working with dogs. Please do not apply if you are not ready to devote blood sweat and tears to your K9 partner. If you have a way with dogs we want to hear from you.
Position starts as part time in downtown Vancouver assisting our dog handlers. K9 Training will be provided to help you grow into a dog handler.
Following requirements are a must:
A solid understanding of working dogs
Must be able to house a large working dog
Must have a vehicle to transport a large dog
Must be willing to dedicate time and energy to learn and train in K9 Detection
Must obtain a BC Security Workers Licence and complete in house training.
Must be able to obtain and special security clearance from the federal government.
