We are seeking a Certified Pressure Welder at our BC-based business. Qualified candidates will excel at prepping, fitting, and welding pipe spools for commercial and industrial applications. They will also assist our service and installation crew members when required. Note: the day-to-day responsibilities of this role align closer to those of a commercial boilermaker than a pipeline welder.
Skills/Requirements
- PWP 7 pressure ticket required
- Experience using a welding positioner
- Must be proficient in SMAW. Experience in GMAW, GTAW and FCAW is an asset.
- Ability to plan and effectively work from isometric drawings
- Must be proficient in welding of carbon steel pressure piping. Experience with stainless steel pressure piping is an asset.
- Able to work in both an individual and team environment
- Experience working within a company QC Program
- Ability to handle material procurement
- Knowledge of ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, and CSA B51 is an asset
Qualifications
- Previous experience in the boiler industry working with steam/hydronic systems
- Ability to meet and exceed targets for production output requirements
- 18 years or older
- Valid drivers licence
- High school graduation or GED certificate
- Ability to communicate crucial information/directions when working with others
