Job Description
We are looking for two (2) reliable, skilled, and versatile Handymen/Handywomen to join our team in Sydney, Nova Scotia. If you are a jack-of-all-trades who enjoys variety in your workday and takes pride in high-quality property maintenance and renovation work, this is the job for you.
The ideal candidates will handle everything from basic carpentry and painting to routine cleaning and lawn care. You must be a self-starter who can work independently or as part of a two-person team.
Key Responsibilities
- Carpentry & Repairs: Perform minor carpentry tasks, including repairing decks, fences, trim work, doors, and basic drywall patching.
- Painting: Prepare surfaces (sanding, taping, priming) and apply interior/exterior paint to a professional standard.
- Property Cleaning: Handle post-construction cleanup, debris removal, and general deep cleaning of properties as required.
- Lawn Care & Landscaping: Perform routine grass cutting, weed whacking, edging, and basic yard maintenance to keep properties looking sharp.
- General Maintenance: Troubleshoot minor issues on-site and ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Proven experience in property maintenance, construction, or a similar handyman role. Experience in carpentry and painting is a must.
- Tools: Ownership of basic hand tools and reliable work gear is an asset (larger equipment will be provided).
- Driver's License: A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle is strongly preferred to move between job sites.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to work on ladders, and handle physical labor.
- Attributes: Reliable, punctual, detail-oriented, and able to maintain a polite and professional attitude on job sites.
