Established in 1974, the Church St. School Child Care Centre is a non-profit Centre located in the heart of the Church and Wellesley neighborhood. We are a dynamic, family oriented, community childcare Centre, taking enormous pride in being a leader of diversity and inclusion. We offer high-quality early learning and care to children from 18 months to 13 years of age.
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Camp Educator to join our team for an enriching summer experience. As a Camp Educator, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, engaging, and educational environment for children. You will be responsible for leading activities, providing guidance, and fostering a positive camp culture that encourages personal growth and teamwork among campers.
This is a short term contract position with possibility to enter into full time work come September. The position is from June 29th, 2026- September 3rd, 2026. Monday through Friday, 35 hour weeks.
Duties
- Supervise and engage with campers in various activities, ensuring safety and enjoyment.
- Educate campers on the importance of teamwork, respect, and responsibility through structured programs.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote learning and creativity with your team.
- Foster a supportive environment by building relationships with campers and addressing their needs.
- Collaborate with fellow counselors to create a cohesive team atmosphere.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the camp facilities and equipment.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding camper progress and behavior as needed.
Experience
- Previous experience working with children is highly desirable; familiarity with early childhood education is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively connect with campers of various ages.
- Ability to adapt activities to meet the diverse needs of children.
- Enthusiasm for outdoor activities, arts and crafts, sports, or other recreational pursuits is beneficial.
- A commitment to fostering an inclusive environment where all campers feel valued and respected.

Qualifications:
- MUST have valid WSIB approved Standard First Aid CPR Level C
- MUST have Vulnerable Sector Screen within 6 months or be submitted prior to hiring
- Experience working with children and youth
- Diploma/Degree or in other child led professions an asset (ECE, ECA, Child and Youth, CSW, Recreation and Leisure etc.)
- MUST be able to commit to full time contract for the entire operating summer program
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
-Able to collaborate and communicate openly with team members, colleagues, and families
-Demonstrate initiative and flexibility, with the ability to adapt quickly to situations in a dynamic work environment
