Tronosjet is seeking an Aerospace CAD Technician to join our team in Charlottetown, PEI. In this position, you will play a crucial role in converting designs created by our Engineers into precise technical drawings, essential for the manufacturing of aircraft.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Drawings: Create and modify technical drawings for manufacturing, fabrication, and assembly. Maintain drawing accuracy, dimensions, and tolerances. Ensure compliance with industry/company drafting standards and procedures. Update and revise CAD models and drawings based on design changes or engineering feedback.
Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, production teams, and quality assurance personnel to ensure that designs are feasible and meet required specifications.
Use of CAD Software: Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software is essential, to produce and modify designs. CAD software is Solidworks for making 3D model and 2D drawing, basic Fusion 360 is helpful.
Documentation: Complete records for every aspect of the design process, ensuring that all specifications are accurately captured for production. Organize and maintain CAD files, versions, and revisions.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Educational Background: A qualification in engineering and/or design is required.
Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail is crucial, as even minor errors in technical drawings can lead to significant issues in manufacturing.
Technical Skills: Understanding engineering principles and being adept with CAD software are fundamental skills for success in this role. Ability to interpret drawings, basic math skills, geometric tolerancing (GD&T), and tolerance stack up.
Problem-Solving: Decisive and effective solutions-based decision making is required when encountering unique challenges.
Work Environment:
The role is performed in an office setting and is part of a manufacturing environment. Work involves sitting for long periods at a computer and standing to assess components, materials, and models. Time may also be spent in the manufacturing area collaborating with engineers, machinists, technicians, and other stakeholders.
