TH offers a wide range of acute and post-acute care including emergency and intensive care, medical/surgical care, obstetrical, rehabilitation and complex/transitional care and palliative care services. Speech Language Pathologist - Permanent Part Time
Temiskaming Hospital currently has an employment opportunity for a Part-Time Speech Language Pathologist to join our interdisciplinary team.
Qualifications
Graduate with a Masters in Speech and Language Pathology;
Current registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario;
Current CPR certification;
Oral proficiency in French at a Superior or advance level is recommended;
Previous Hospital experience is an asset;
Demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, Professional Staff and other health care professionals;
Demonstrates strong problem-solving, decision-making, and critical thinking skills;
Open to change and is proactive to departmental initiatives;
Dependable and reliable with a good attendance record;
Evidence of organizational and prioritization skills;
Ability to work independently.
Summary of Duties
Assess and investigate all referrals received
Establish, plan and implement patient programs
Interact with other health care professionals, family and others involved in patient’s care
Monitor patient programs to ensure a safe working environment is maintained and that program changes are initiated as required
Complete all relevant documentation according to departmental standards
Assures confidentiality of patient information in all interactions and documentation
