Our client is a dynamic organization representing a diverse community of farmers and producers. They collaborate with government and industry partners to develop policies, programs, and infrastructure that strengthen the agricultural sector.
Our client is looking for an Executive Director to lead their organization in the agriculture sector. The Executive Director will provide strategic leadership, fostering growth, sustainability, and resilience in the industry while working closely with stakeholders across territorial and federal levels.

Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership by guiding long-term direction, supporting governance, and aligning organizational priorities with policy development.
- Lead policy and advocacy efforts, including monitoring emerging issues, coordinating member input, and representing the organization in committees and advisory groups.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with government, industry partners, and territorial associations while fostering consensus on key issues.
- Oversee communications, ensuring clarity and consistency through newsletters, websites, social media, and public outreach.
- Plan and execute events such as the Annual General Meeting (AGM), workshops, producer gatherings, and sector-building initiatives.
- Manage operations and finances, including administration, budgeting, forecasting, grants, bookkeeping, and risk management.

Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in agriculture, agri-food, nonprofit leadership, or a related field.
- Residency in the Yukon with the ability to work primarily from the Whitehorse office (hybrid options available for other Yukon communities).
- Able to travel territorially and nationally (approximately 10% of the time).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience in an executive leadership role in multi-stakeholder environments preferred.
- Experience working with government, growers, and sector associations.
- Knowledge of policy processes, governance, and financial management.
- Background in member-based or nonprofit organizations.
- Familiarity with Canadian agriculture; experience in Yukon agriculture an asset.
