Controls / Robotics Technician
Position Summary
We’re a growing engineering and manufacturing company based in Guelph, Ontario. We specialize in custom assembly and manufacturing solutions, specializing in advanced robotic and automated systems. We are seeking a Controls & Robotics Technician.
The Controls / Robotics Technician will play a key role in the installation, programming, integration, and maintenance of advanced robotics and automation systems. This position requires strong technical expertise and excellent customer-facing skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Programming, integration, and commissioning of PLC and robotic systems
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot robotics systems and automation equipment
- Diagnose and repair complex system issues to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance
- Develop electrical design, schematics and drawings in AutoCAD\SolidWorks
- Integrate and optimise various camera and vision systems as required on automation
- Work directly with customers to provide exceptional technical support and service
- Maintain and adhere to established control system design standards
- Inspect completed control panels to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
- Research supplier products for assembly components
- Communicate effectively with management and team members to ensure project alignment and timelines
- Adhere strictly to all safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Automation, or a related field
- Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in robotics control systems, automation, or a related industry
- Strong expertise in PLC programming, robotics control systems (Fanuc/ABB), diagnostics, and automation technologies
- Proven ability to work independently and lead technical projects
- Excellent customer service skills with a strong focus on client satisfaction
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Clean driving record
- Occasional Travel – Valid Passport required

Pay: $70,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
