Job Overview:
You will be working with our culinary team to prepare innovative, delicious dishes for both dine-in and take-out. As a Back of House Manager at our York St location, you will have the chance to lead, learn from, and work with talented chefs, as well as have the opportunity for growth within the organization.
Responsibilities:

Train, mentor, and lead a team of chefs and cooks in all aspects in the kitchen

Keep the kitchen running smoothly (scheduling, equipment maintenance, menu updates, etc.)

Prepare food according to Hello Nori Quality Assurance standards in a timely manner

Collaborate with our Corporate culinary team to update food items and specials

Design standardized food presentation guidelines

Handle food and labour cost management

Handle ordering and monitor inventory of all materials

Keep an eye on quality, cleanliness, and safety
Requirements:

Experience in a sushi or Japanese style restaurant is preferred

At least 3 years of experience as a chef

At least 1 year experience in a kitchen leadership position

Knowledge of various types of fish and Japanese cooking techniques

Ability to work quickly and accurately

Food Safe Level 1 certification minimum

Full-time availability, including evenings and weekends

Must be legally able to work in Canada
