The Warehouse Operator is a key contributor to shipping operations. Reporting to the supervisor, they are responsible for managing goods as well as preparing and shipping orders. They must be able to operate equipment related to their role, including computers, forklifts, and communication tools, while ensuring that operations run safely. Forklift operation represents approximately 30% of the working time.
Available Positions
- Day shift: 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Key Responsibilities
- Perform inventory counts (start and end of shift)
- Verify received and shipped quantities
- Prepare, sort, and distribute products according to orders
- Load trailers and balance quantities based on established plans
- Make necessary changes to orders in the system
- Coordinate shipments to avoid delays for carriers
- Complete shipping reports and submit them to the supervisor
- Assign tasks to general helpers
- Place service calls in case of trailer breakdowns
- Receive external suppliers
- Store goods in designated locations
- Report any non-conformities to the supervisor
- Maintain accurate receiving and shipping logs
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- Comply with health and safety regulations
- Immediately report any risks related to food quality or safety
- Perform any other related tasks as required
Skills and Competencies
- Proficiency with computer tools and automated environments
- Experience with WMS systems (scanner) – an asset
- Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
- Attention to detail, focus, and accuracy
- Good interpersonal skills
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma (DES) or equivalent experience (3 to 5 years)
- Experience in the food industry (an asset)
- Valid forklift license (required)
- Good command of French (spoken and written)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Successful completion of pre-employment tests (math and logic)
Benefits
- Hourly rate: $26.39/hour
- Night premium: $1.50/hour (12:00 AM to 6:00 AM)
- Evening premium: $0.90/hour (6:00 PM to 12:00 AM)
