About the Opportunities:
GMS Mining is seeking experienced Underground Miners to support growing operations across multiple mine sites. If you have experience as a Development Miner, Construction Miner, or Remote Scoop, we want to hear from you! These roles offer long-term career opportunities, steady hours, and a strong safety-focused culture.
Development Miner:
- Operate underground development equipment (bolters, jumbos, jackleg and stoper, etc…)
- Install ground support: bolting, screening, mesh
- Perform scaling, blasting, and heading advancement
- Complete pre-op inspections and safety documentation
Construction Miner:
- Support underground construction projects (ventilation, utilities, infrastructure)
- Install piping, ventilation ducting, services, and ground support
- Operate construction equipment and perform manual labor
- Follow construction plans and complete tasks safely and efficiently
Remote Scoop Operator:
- Operate scoop (LHD) equipment in an underground mining environment
- Load, haul, and dump ore or waste material safely and efficiently
- Conduct pre-operational inspections and routine equipment checks
Qualifications:
- Underground Hard Rock Miner Common Core with role-specific specialty modules
- 2+ years’ experience in underground hard rock mining operations
- Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass safety-sensitive pre-employment testing/medicals
- Mine Rescue certification is considered a strong asset
Compensation: $40 - $85/hour commensurate with experience, as well as a daily living allowance for qualified candidates.
Schedule: 5/5/4 (Timmins) & 7/7 (Matachewan) with 10-hour rotating day and night shifts
