COST ACCOUNTANT

Our client, a well-established organization in Guelph, is seeking a high-performing Cost Accountant to join their finance team. This role offers exposure to senior leadership, meaningful operational involvement, and a clear path for career progression within a stable and growing organization.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Controller, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and analysis of inventory, sales, and cost of sales reporting. You will work cross-functionally with operations and finance to deliver actionable cost insights that support strategic and operational decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze costs across projects and processes to drive profitability and operational efficiency
- Prepare and analyze monthly reporting, including gross margin, sales, inventory metrics, and material, labour, and overhead variances
- Perform budget-to-actual analysis at the project level
- Monitor and report on project gross margins and cost-to-complete balances
- Support continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives
- Partner with purchasing, R&D, and operations to develop cost estimates for new products
- Oversee inventory reporting and ensure movements align with production activity
- Lead, mentor, and support the cost accounting function
- Provide ad-hoc analysis and insights as required by management

Pay: $70,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
