We are hiring part-time, seasonal banquet and restaurant bartenders to join our Food & Beverage team. With over five outlets in our F&B department, there are opportunities for skill development and education.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to members and guests in a timely manner, while adhering to recipes and specifications.
- Welcome and greet members and guests in a friendly and professional manner, and provide recommendations on drink selections when requested.
- Take customer orders and process payments accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including washing glassware, utensils, and equipment, and restocking supplies as needed.
- Check the identification of customers to verify age requirements for the purchase of alcohol.
- Monitor and control inventory levels of liquor, beer, wine, and other supplies, and place orders as needed to ensure adequate stock.
- Adhere to all safety, sanitation, and legal regulations, including responsible alcohol service practices.
- Handle customer inquiries, comments, and complaints in a professional manner, and escalate issues to management when necessary.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff and servers to ensure prompt and accurate service to customers.
- Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance knowledge of mixology techniques, beverage offerings, and customer service skills.
- Perform opening and closing duties, including setup and breakdown of the bar area, cash handling, and cleaning tasks.
- Uphold company policies and standards for customer service, cleanliness, and professionalism at all times.
- Continuously strive to improve the guest experience by providing attentive service and creating a welcoming atmosphere.
- Serving food and beverage to members and guests.
- Practicing responsible alcohol service.
- Monitoring patrons for intoxication and arranging taxi service when appropriate.
Qualifications and Skills Requirements
- Service orientation - comfortable helping customers with high expectations.
- Minimum two years bartending experience in quality establishments, i.e., clubs, restaurants, hotels.
- Serving it right certificate.
- Age 19+ for serving alcohol.
- Sound knowledge of mixology and wine service
- Flexible schedule with the ability to work all shifts, weekends and holidays
- Problem solver - ability to understand and resolve issues.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to provide great customer service in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable to both take direction and work unsupervised
- Own transportation is an asset, as bus service is limited
Physical Demands:
- Reaching, bending, and moving your upper and lower body frequently.
- The ability to quickly and frequently shake cocktails, engaging your upper body and shoulder area.
- Lifting up to 30 pounds.
- Occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Moving heavy boxes around, bending, and lifting heavy items to put away stock and stock the bars. Up to 50 lbs.
- Standing for up to 8 hours, bending, and moving frequently during working hours.
The position cannot be accomplished without being physically able to perform the above physical requirements.
