Job Summary:
Established in 1989, Eton-West Construction (ALTA) Inc. is a General Contractor based in Edmonton with ongoing projects in and around the surrounding areas as well as a branch in Calgary. We specialize in the commercial, light-industrial, and institutional sectors.
*We are looking for a full-time Senior Project Coordinator for our Edmonton office. Reporting to the Vice Presidents, you will be working closely with our project managers and other project coordinators on tendering projects to project close-outs.
General Skills / Requirements:
- Valid driver’s licence and your own vehicle
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
- Flexibility with schedule; ability to travel locally as needed
- At least five (5) years of experience in commercial construction
Main Responsibilities:
- Assist the project manager(s) in coordinating construction activities, manage subcontractors, and work with superintendents to manage the day-to-day operations
- Make regular site visits with owners and consultants to review project progress and perform safety inspections
- Communicate with project team members (owners, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers) digitally, verbally, and in written formats
- Collaborate with project manager(s) in preparing budgets and estimates for tenders
- Participate in creating project safety and logistics plans
- Prepare purchase orders and subcontract agreements with owners and subcontractors
- Manage project documents such as change orders, requests for information, and schedule updates
- Participate in project close-out activities such as deficiency reviews, prepare substantial completion certificates, and ensure close-out documents are received from consultants and trades
- Coordinate project deliverables to ensure schedule is achieved
