Senior Estimator, ICI - Permanent - 19104
About the Opportunity
Successful projects and companies are shaped well before construction begins. At the senior level, estimating is not just about pricing, it’s about influencing strategy, guiding decisions, and setting the tone for execution.
This opportunity is with a prominent and growing General Contractor delivering complex, $50M+ new-build projects across the GTA. The organization is actively evolving, investing in its people, systems, and pre-construction capabilities as it scales.
As a Senior Estimator, you will play a central role in leading pursuits, shaping pricing strategies, and mentoring the next generation of estimators. You will work closely with internal leadership, operations teams, and trusted trade partners to drive clarity, manage risk, and position projects for successful delivery.
This is a highly visible role within a collaborative, forward-thinking pre-construction environment where estimating is considered a core driver of business success.
About You
You are a commercially astute, confident estimator who brings both technical expertise and sound judgment. You operate comfortably in evolving environments and enjoy taking ownership, whether that’s leading pursuits, refining processes, or developing others.
You understand that at the senior level, success in estimating comes from leadership, communication, and trust as much as technical ability.
The successful candidate will have the following:
Extensive experience working for a General Contractor within ICI construction
A strong track record estimating complex commercial and/or institutional projects, ideally in the $50M+ range
Advanced knowledge of estimating fundamentals including quantities, procurement strategy, subcontractor engagement, pricing, value engineering, and risk management
Proven experience leading bids and coordinating full-cycle pre-construction efforts
Strong exposure to Design-Build and alternative delivery models
Deep understanding of trade scopes, market conditions, and subcontractor relationships
The ability to mentor and support junior/intermediate estimators
Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
Confidence to challenge assumptions, guide discussions, and drive decisions in a team-first environment
About the Job
This is a long-term career opportunity with a contractor that is intentionally building and strengthening its pre-construction function.
You’ll be joining:
A growing organization investing heavily in its pre-construction leadership and team structure
A collaborative environment where Senior Estimators have real input into strategy, pursuits, and internal process development
A team delivering large-scale, complex projects that require thoughtful planning and leadership from early concept
A business that values balance and supports hybrid working through trust and strong internal systems
A high-performing, grounded team that takes pride in its work and supports one another
Competitive salary, typically ranging from $140,000 to $170,000, depending on experience
Comprehensive benefits and bonus structure (aligned with seniority and impact)
