Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled DZ Driver with experience on a 10 speed manual transmission to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations. This role requires not only driving expertise but experience with loading and unloading materials and equipment. Must be able to drive 10 speed manual transmission.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a truck to transport materials and equipment to various locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of items.
- Perform basic maintenance tasks such as checking fluid levels, changing tires, and minor repairs.
- Utilize hand tools for any necessary adjustments or repairs during transport.
- Communicate effectively with owner/foreman/suppliers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise during transit.
- Adhere to all local laws and regulations regarding transportation.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver's licence (DZ) with manual transmission is required.
- Working at Height is an asset.
- Must provide copy of driver's abstract.
- Strong and heavy lifting capabilities (up to 50 lbs).
- Proficiency in using hand tools for basic repairs or adjustments.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-oriented attitude.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Other duties as assigned.
