Department Manager – Housing Stability & Legal Advocacy

About the Role
SPCRS is hiring a Department Manager to lead our Housing Stability and Legal Advocacy programs. In this excluded management role, you’ll oversee service delivery, staff supervision, funder relations, and community engagement — reporting directly to the Executive Director.
Responsibilities
- Lead program planning, budgeting, and contract management across multiple programs
- Supervise, mentor, and support a team of frontline staff
- Ensure compliance with funder contracts, reporting requirements, and legislation
- Represent SPCRS in the community and advocate for clients at local, regional, and provincial levels
- Contribute to agency-wide development as a member of the Management Team
- Report to the Board of Directors through monthly written reports
- Participate in the after-hours Manager on Call (MOC) rotation
Required Qualifications
One of the following:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field
- A related degree plus 4+ years of supervised applicable experience
- 8+ years of combined education, training, and experience in a related field
Skills & Attributes:
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with budget management and funder reporting
- Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds, including Indigenous peoples
- Cultural Safety and Humility Training
- Computer literacy (Excel, Word, email)
- Valid BC driver’s licence
- DEI-informed
