HR & Payroll Coordinator
The HR Administrator is responsible for administering accurate and compliant bi-weekly payroll while supporting core human resources, benefits, and workplace health and safety functions. This role ensures compliance with provincial and federal regulations, supports HR audits and best practices, and provides frontline support to employees and supporting across the employee lifecycle.
Payroll & Compensation
- Prepare bi-weekly payroll in compliance with federal and provincial regulations
- Prepare EHT and WCB remittances (quarterly and annually)
- Prepare payroll reporting, reconciliation, vacation accrual, labour cost, and benefits reports
- Prepare payroll budgeting and salary review processes
- Process vacation pay, leaves, special payments, ROEs, and year-end payroll (T4, T4A, tax reconciliation)
- Calculate taxable benefits, e.g. personal-use mileage, in compliance with CRA requirements
Other HR related operations
- Support group benefits administration, renewals, and employee inquiries
- Respond to employee payroll and HR inquiries
- Support recruitment, onboarding, orientation, and HRIS administration
- Maintain accurate employee records in compliance with privacy legislation
- Support performance reviews, employee relations documentation, HR audits, and policy updates
- Conduct compensation, wage, and market research to support best practices
- Assisting safety orientations, training, and awards
- Assisting Joint Health & Safety Committee activities
- Assisting First Aid checks, drills, site inspections, and WorkSafeBC compliance
- Assisting injury claims, incident investigations, and return-to-work programs
Qualifications
- 2 years of Canadian payroll (full cycle) and 3 years of HR experience
- Diploma or above in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration or relevant qualification
- Possess manufacturing experience would be an asset
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation or towards the designation
- Knowledge of BC Employment Standards, CRA payroll, and WorkSafeBC regulations
- Experience with payroll systems and HRIS would be an asset
- Less experienced will be considered as HR Assistant
