Job Summary
Division 26 Inc. is seeking a motivated and safety-focused Hydrovac Operator to join our growing team in Fort McMurray and surrounding areas. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating hydrovac equipment safely and efficiently while supporting excavation, utility locating, daylighting, trenching, and industrial construction activities.
This position requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent equipment operation skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate hydrovac trucks and related equipment.
- Perform daylighting, utility exposure, slot trenching, debris removal, and excavation activities.
- Conduct pre-trip, post-trip, and daily equipment inspections.
- Complete FLHAs, SiteDocs documentation, vehicle inspections, and daily reports.
- Maintain accurate logbooks, maintenance records, and field paperwork.
- Follow all company, client, and regulatory safety requirements.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, locators, clients, and crew members.
- Assist with equipment maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
- Ensure work areas are left clean and safe upon completion.
- Operate in industrial, municipal, commercial, and oil sands environments.
- Adhere to Division 26 Inc.'s Safety Management System and client-specific requirements.
QualificationsRequired
- Valid Class 3 Driver's License with Air Brakes (Q Endorsement).
- Clean Driver's Abstract.
- Previous Hydrovac operating experience.
- Ability to pass pre-access Drug & Alcohol testing.
- Physically fit and capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Strong understanding of safe excavation practices.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred
- Oil Sands Safety Association (OSSA) or Energy Safety Canada orientation.
- CSTS 2020.
- H2S Alive.
- Standard First Aid/CPR.
- Ground Disturbance Level II.
- Fall Protection.
- WHMIS 2015.
- Experience working on industrial sites including Suncor, Syncrude, CNRL, or other major projects an asset.
