Overview
We are seeking an experienced, reliable, and adaptable Medical Office Assistant (MOA) to join our team as a Part-Time Casual / On-Call MOA, providing coverage across multiple family practice and walk-in clinics throughout London, Ontario.
This role is ideal for an experienced MOA who enjoys working in different clinic environments and can confidently step into an existing team with minimal training. Shifts will be offered on an as-needed basis to provide coverage for vacations, sick days, staffing shortages, and operational support.
Because assignments may be at different clinic locations throughout London, candidates must have access to a reliable vehicle and be comfortable travelling between clinics.
Responsibilities
- Provide front desk and administrative support in family practice and walk-in clinics.
- Register patients and maintain accurate electronic medical records.
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm appointments.
- Answer multi-line phone systems and respond professionally to patient inquiries.
- Process referrals, requisitions, and other clinic documentation.
- Scan, upload, and manage patient documents within the EMR.
- Verify patient demographics and health card information.
- Support physicians and clinic staff to ensure efficient daily operations.
- Adapt quickly to different clinic workflows and procedures while maintaining excellent patient service.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience working as a Medical Office Assistant in an Ontario family practice or walk-in clinic.
- Proficiency with Avaros EMR and TELUS PS Suite (PSS) EMR is required.
- Experience working in both family practice and walk-in clinic settings is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of Ontario primary care workflows.
- Excellent organizational, multitasking, and communication skills.
- Professional, friendly, and patient-focused approach.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
Requirements
- Reliable vehicle and valid driver's licence.
- Ability to travel to various clinic locations throughout London, ON.
- Availability to accept on-call weekday shifts, sometimes on short notice.
- Flexibility to work at different clinic locations and with different physician teams.
