About the role
We are seeking a highly experienced Machine Building Supervisor specializing in robotics and industrial automation to lead our build team. You will oversee assembly, and commissioning of custom robotic and automated machinery, ensuring every system leaves our shop floor to the highest standard. This role involves regular travel to client sites across the United States for installation, startup, and hands-on support.
Responsibilities
Lead and supervise the machine building team through all phases of robotic and automated system construction
Oversee mechanical assembly, wiring integration, pnumatics, safety and functional testing of custom robotic cells and automated machinery
Collaborate with engineering on robot programming, PLC integration, and system commissioning
Ensure all builds meet engineering specifications, safety codes, and quality standards
Travel to customer sites in the United States and Canada for equipment installation, startup, and on-site technical support
Diagnose and resolve mechanical and automation issues during build and field service
Maintain detailed build documentation, test records, and project progress reports
Mentor junior technicians and drive continuous improvement on the shop floor
and other duties as Assigned
Requirements
5 to 10+ years of hands-on experience in machine building, robotics, or industrial automation
2 to 3+ years in a supervisory or team lead role within a machine building or automation environment
Proven experience with industrial robots (FANUC, KUKA, ABB, or similar) and automated systems integration
Working knowledge of PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or equivalent)
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and technical specifications
Valid driver's clean licence held for a minimum of 5 years
Ability and willingness to travel to the United States (valid passport or appropriate travel documentation)
Strong leadership, communication, and hands-on troubleshooting skills
Millwright, industrial mechanic, or electromechanical technician certification
Experience in plastics or metals manufacturing automation
Robot certification (FANUC, ABB, KUKA, or equivalent)
Familiarity with vision systems, conveyor systems, or end-of-arm tooling design
Candidates must be able to provide a clear police record check and professional references upon request.
Pay: $74,000.00-$84,000.00 per year
