The Opportunity
EMBERS Staffing is looking for an experienced Carpenter Helper to support an active construction project in Victoria. This is hands-on work where your craftsmanship and knowledge of the trade will be put to use from day one — working alongside experienced carpenters, site supervisors and crews to deliver quality results on time and to code.
This is a full time, ongoing position with one of our biggest clients in construction.
What You'll Be Doing
- Performing general carpentry work on active construction sites
- Helping to install and repair doors, windows, drywall, cabinets, stairs, and other fixtures to a high standard of finish
- Measuring, cutting, assembling, and installing building materials
- Assisting with framing, formwork, finishing, and other carpentry-related tasks
- Reading and following drawings, site instructions, and project specifications
- Transporting materials, tools, and equipment around the work site
- Operating hand tools and power tools efficiently throughout the workday
- Working in a physically demanding environment — this role requires prolonged standing, climbing, lifting, and carrying heavy materials
- Keeping work areas clean, organized, and safe
- Assisting with general site duties as needed
What You Need
- Minimum 1 year of experience with carpentry work
- Ability to use carpentry tools and equipment safely and effectively
- Ability to read and work from blueprints and technical drawings with confidence
- Comfortable operating a range of hand and power tools
- Able to manage multiple tasks and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment without compromising quality or safety
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and in various weather conditions
- Fall protection is an asset
- Reliable, safety-conscious, and professional
