The successful candidate will possess a Heavy Equipment Technician Journeyman Certificate recognized by the Province of Alberta, a valid CVIP License, and a Class 3 Driver’s License with air brake endorsement. Candidates must have a minimum of 3–5 years of journeyman experience, preferably in a municipal environment, and demonstrate strong knowledge of heavy equipment maintenance, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance programs. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of Occupational Health and Safety legislation and safe work practices, as well as experience working with a diverse fleet of municipal equipment. Strong written communication and electronic record-keeping skills are required, along with proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word. Additional qualifications such as Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) certification, welding certification, and experience with Worktech are considered assets.
This position is within the scope of C.U.P.E. Local 30, and as such, you will be required to adhere to the articles contained within the Collective Agreement. A 5 year Driver’s Abstract will be required at the time of an interview.
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week; Weekdays (10 hours days, 4 days a week)
