Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregiver/Companions to provide exceptional support and assistance to individuals in need of personal care, companionship, and daily living support. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those recovering from illness. The ideal candidate will have experience in assisted living, home care, or nursing home environments and possess a genuine desire to make a positive difference in clients' lives. This position offers an opportunity to work closely with diverse populations, including seniors with dementia or those requiring hospice care, ensuring they receive respectful and personalized care.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Provide companionship to reduce feelings of loneliness and promote mental well-being
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with feeding if necessary
- Administer medications following prescribed schedules and document accordingly
- Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and laundry to maintain a safe and comfortable environment
- Support clients with mobility exercises and assist with transfers or heavy lifting as needed
- Monitor health status and report any changes or concerns to healthcare professionals or family members
- Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote mental stimulation and social interaction
- Follow all safety protocols related to infection control, medication administration, and emergency procedures
Qualifications
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, hospice care, or home care preferred
- Knowledge of senior care, dementia care, working with individuals with disabilities, and medication administration is highly desirable
- Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when required and maintain physical stamina for caregiving tasks
- Basic understanding of caregiving duties such as meal preparation, cleaning, and patient care routines
- Certification in CPR/First Aid is a plus but not mandatory; willingness to obtain certification is preferred
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license are advantageous for travel between client locations
- Ability to pass background checks and adhere to all safety and health regulations
