Hotch’s Auto Parts is looking for a Production Manager to help manage the daily flow of work through our automotive recycling operation.
This is not a mechanic position, but it does require solid automotive knowledge and mechanical aptitude. The right person needs to understand vehicle systems well enough to assign work properly, judge how long jobs should take, and keep part orders moving through the yard efficiently.
This role sits at the center of our production, shipping, receiving, and delivery workflow. You will be assigning work to parts pullers, parts pickers, QC/shipping staff, and drivers while working closely with Sales, Dismantling, and other departments.
We use modern yard management and production software to organize work orders, assign jobs, track progress, manage quality control, and coordinate delivery routes. You do not need to be a computer expert, but you do need to be comfortable working with browser-based systems, tablets, and general computer tools.
Responsibilities
- Manage the daily production workflow for recycled auto parts orders
- Assign jobs to the appropriate staff, including parts pullers, warehouse pickers, QC/shipping staff, and drivers
- Supervise a team of approximately 8–10 employees
- Coordinate daily driver routes and general shipping needs
- Help receive and organize incoming parts shipments
- Monitor work orders and keep jobs moving through the system
- Communicate with Sales, Dismantling, Shipping/Receiving, and other departments to keep operations running smoothly
- Help prioritize urgent orders and make practical decisions throughout the day
- Make sure completed parts are checked, staged, shipped, or ready for pickup
- Contact customers when orders are ready when needed
- Help maintain an organized, safe, and productive work area
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who is organized, mechanically minded, and comfortable managing people in a busy working environment.
The right person should be able to look at a parts order and understand what is involved. For example, they should have a good general sense of whether a job is simple, awkward, time-consuming, better suited for an outdoor puller, better suited for an indoor dismantler, or something that may already be available in the warehouse.
This position may be a good fit for someone with experience as a dealership service manager, automotive service advisor, shop foreman, parts manager, production coordinator, or someone from a similar automotive background who is looking for more responsibility.
