About the Role
Panex is hiring a Customs Specialist to manage import shipments into Canada. This role focuses on customs clearance, coordination, and ensuring shipments move efficiently and in compliance with CBSA regulations.
Key Responsibilities
· Process and release import shipments (air / ocean / trucking)
· Prepare and submit customs entries (CCN, HBL, etc.)
· Ensure compliance with CBSA regulations and Customs Act
· Track shipments and communicate status with clients
· Coordinate with carriers, warehouses, and truckers
· Handle duties/taxes and final accounting
· Resolve clearance issues and shipment delays
Requirements
· Minimum 3 years experience in freight forwarding, customs brokerage, or related field
· Strong understanding of Canadian customs clearance processes (eManifest, release, accounting)
· Ability to manage multiple shipments in a fast-paced environment
· Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
· Good communication skills (English required; Chinese is an asset)
Preferred Assets
· Experience in trading companies, government agencies, customs, or brokerage firms
· Working knowledge of customs regulations and import/export compliance
· General awareness of international trade policies and market changes
