Job Overview:
The Fort McMurray 468 First Nation is seeking dependable and professional Security Guards to ensure the safety and security of community members, staff, visitors, and facilities at the newly established Nikinan Centre. This position is integral to maintaining a secure and safe environment, while honoring and upholding the Nation’s traditional values.
Responsibilities:
Maintain a safe and secure environment for members, staff and visitors by patrolling and monitoring premises
- Monitor and inspect the site, equipment and access points regularly
- Establish a strong security presence to maintain site safety and access control
- Quickly respond to security violations, property damage, alarms and trespassers on premises
- Complete incident reports for security purposes
- Provide access control and respond to emergency situations in an appropriate and timely manner
- Identify potential security risks and hazards and respond accordingly
- Provide excellent customer service to our clients, customers and patrons
- Document incidents and complete detailed security reports accurately
- Complete daily Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHA’s) and Incident Reports when required
· Perform other security-related duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Valid Alberta Security License
- A Class 5 Driver’s License
- First Aid and CPR certification (Standard or Emergency Level)
- Willingness to work Night shifts (7 on 7 off) including weekends and holidays
- Experience in customer service, or related fields is an asset
- Strong ability to remain calm and make quick decisions in high-pressure situations
- Ability to work without close supervision
- Physical ability to walk long distances, climb stairs, and stand for extended periods
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness and capability to take a proactive approach to security measures
- Comfort and experience in interacting with vulnerable populations
- Commitment to treating everyone with dignity and respect
