We are seeking a dedicated and passionate High School Humanities Teacher who is committed to providing students with the highest quality education. The successful candidate will teach Social Studies and English Language Arts (ELA), inspiring students to think critically, communicate effectively, and engage meaningfully with the world around them.
Duties:
- Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans in accordance with the Alberta curriculum for Social Studies and English Language Arts
- Foster students’ critical thinking, reading, writing, and communication skills
- Provide constructive feedback to support student learning and academic growth
- Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
- Utilize a variety of teaching strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Monitor and assess student progress using formative and summative assessment practices
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance student learning and the overall educational experience
Skills & Qualifications:
Required:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong knowledge of high school Social Studies and English Language Arts curriculum
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to support diverse student populations
- Experience teaching Humanities, Social Studies, and/or English Language Arts at the high school level
- Commitment to creating an engaging and student-centered learning environment
CURRENT ALBERTA TEACHERS’ CERTIFICATION IS MANDATORY
