About the Opportunity
Reporting to the VP, Supply Chain, the (Bilingual EN/FR) Director, Supply Chain is responsible for execution and delivery of supply chain activities at the site level including procurement warehousing, inventory, and contract management activities, ensuring reliable and cost-effective supply chain execution.
This role focuses on operationalizing enterprise supply chain strategies and category frameworks, ensuring reliable, cost-effective, and timely supply of goods and services to support site operations. The Director plays a critical role in translating strategy into execution, while maintaining the flexibility required to meet evolving operational demands and non-category spend.
The Director is accountable for ensuring continuity of supply, contractor performance, and disciplined materials management, supporting production, development, and maintenance plans.
Working closely with Category Leads and Supply Chain Business Partners, this role ensures adherence to enterprise standards, while driving site-level execution, performance, and continuous improvement.

Position Responsibilities, Accountabilities and Job Duties
1. Site SCM Execution & Delivery
-
Accountable for the day to day execution of supply chain activities including procurement, warehousing, inventory management, and contract administration

Ensure alignment between supply chain execution and projects, planning and development schedules, and maintenance requirements

Act as a core member of the site leadership team, supporting requirements planning, budgeting, and operational decision-making

Translate enterprise priorities into clear execution plans, resource allocation, and performance targets

Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team across buyers, warehouse, and materials management
2. Contractor & Commercial Management
-
Support and execute Lead sourcing, negotiation, and management of contractor-heavy scopes, including development, drilling, and mining services

Ensure scopes of work are operationally fit-for-purpose, commercially sound, and executable in the field

Drive contractor performance through defined KPIs and service levels, with accountability for safety, cost, and delivery outcomes

Resolve commercial and operational issues in a timely manner to avoid impacts to production and development schedules

Maintain oversight of all active contracts and commitments at site, ensuring governance and performance tracking
3. Procurement & Category Strategy Enablement

Execute procurement activities in alignment with category strategies where established

Collaborate with Category Leads and Supply Chain Business Partners to deploy agreements and ensure compliance at site

Maintain autonomy over non-category, site-driven, and urgent operational spend while adhering to governance requirements

Identify opportunities to leverage enterprise agreements and consolidate demand across sites where appropriate

Provide structured feedback from site to inform and improve category strategies and sourcing decisions
4. Warehousing, Inventory & Materials Management

Oversee warehousing and materials management functions, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient material flow to operations

Ensure availability of critical spares and consumables to support maintenance and development activities

Establish and maintain appropriate inventory levels, balancing service reliability, risk, and working capital
-
Drive continuous improvement in materials management processes, including receiving, storage, issuing, and inventory accuracy
5. Cost & AISC Performance

Support delivery of cost improvements across materials, services, and contractor spend
-
Identify and execute opportunities for cost reduction through sourcing, demand management, and process efficiency
-
Monitor and report on supply chain performance against budget and cost targets
-
Support site budgeting and forecasting processes with accurate supply chain inputs and insights
6. Governance, Risk & Compliance
-
Ensure all procurement and contracting activities comply with company policies, delegated authorities, and ethical standards
-
Maintain visibility and control over commitments, contracts, and supplier-related risks
-
Support internal and external audits, ensuring transparency and integrity in all procurement activities
-
Promote disciplined sourcing practices while maintaining the agility required for site operations
Qualifications and Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field
-
Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in supply chain, procurement, or materials management
-
Experience in mining or a similar heavy industry environment is strongly preferred
-
Proven experience managing contractor-heavy scopes and operational procurement in a site-based environment

Demonstrated experience leading teams across procurement, warehousing, or materials management
Technical & Functional Skills

Strong commercial acumen with experience in sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier management
-
Solid understanding of inventory and materials management principles in an operational setting
-
Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., SAP S/4 HANA) and standard business tools (e.g., Microsoft Office)
-
Ability to balance governance requirements with the need for speed and flexibility in site operations
